Currently I work as a visual designer craftings apps and websites. All of my sites are responsive and created in compliance with ADA WCAG 2.0 AA standards.

Before transitioning to a development agency, I primarily worked with nonprofits doing graphic design. I’ve designed just about everything you can think of – signage pieces, wall vinyl, posters, booklets, annual reports, logos and branding guides, social graphic sets, series of assets for event promotion and fundraising campaigns, murals and installations, and merch and apparel.

I design everything these days in Figma, though I also previously worked in Sketch. Obviously, I also use the handy dandy Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere). I keep track of tasks through GitHub and Basecamp and communicate with teammates via Slack.

I geek out on personality tests. I enjoy learning how people are individually wired and how they operate best. My Enneagram Type is a 7w8 and my Myers Briggs is ENFP. I’m a people person. I was nicknamed the social chair of our office after the fire alarm went off and I told everybody to get out of the building so we could go outside and meet the floors below us. Apparently that’s not what most people think to do during a fire drill. I think that relationships with others are some of the most valuable things you can have and still keep friendships with many creatives I’ve had the pleasure to work with over the years. If you need a guy, chances are I know that guy. Really, you can find many designers who can execute the task at hand. Why work with me? I’m a team player. I bring people together and do my best to communicate keeping the needs of others in mind.

I’m passionate. I’m high energy and highly motivated. I have a carefully trained eye for detail and pixels and work confidently and quickly to execute my work.

Design takes up most of my daily time, but photography is my creative outlet. I shoot a handful of weddings a year with my trusty SonyA7riii. I’ve also done headshots, senior photos, family photos, and conceptual shoots & collaborations, but time outside work is limited and I use that time mostly on telling love stories in a unique and candid way through photos. It’s an honor to be trusted with some of life’s most important moments.

I’m an active and permanently curious human being. My 2023 adventures involved snowshoeing the Adirondacks, white water rafting, caving, navigating a via ferrata, kickboxing, rock climbing in France, trekking up sand dunes, canoeing, participating in local parks cleanups, swimming with whales, running the Chicago Marathon, moving to a new apartment downtown Grand Rapids, MI, and adopting an aussiedoodle puppy. * takes breath * When I’ve finally decided to chill out for a second, I’m probably watching some lighthearted tv…Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Brooklyn99, The Office, Parks and Rec, and Love on the Spectrum for starters.
